Artist Registry Vol. VI: Parts

Artists most competitive in this category make functional or decorative building parts. Artist-Made Building Parts™ are defined as deliverable objects and products integral to the built environment, including functional components, site furnishings and ornamental detailing.  Artist-Made Building Parts™ may be created in a variety of materials. Some examples of building components created by artists include forged metal gates, railings and grilles; stained glass windows; cast glass and ceramic tiles; concrete pavers; light fixtures; carved wooden doors and millwork; terracotta door surrounds and carved brick details; banners; benches; tree grates and man-hole covers.

Artist Registry Vol. VI: Sites

Artists most competitive in this category have experience creating artwork integrated into architecture or a site. Strong candidates will have experience integrating art in civic buildings and public spaces, park and landscape sites, transportation and water/waste management infrastructure projects. Applicants should have a desire and ability to work collaboratively with other design professionals, the community and construction trades. All media accepted. Completed project experience required.

Artist Registry Vol. VI: Plans

Artists most competitive in this category have experience developing public art plans and working in design team collaborations. This category is for artists who enjoy the planning and design process and setting the stage for other artists to participate. Design team collaboration means that artists work with other members of the design team—traditionally, architects, engineers, landscape architects and clients— to incorporate their ideas and perspectives into the total project planning and design. Often this means participating only as a consultant in the early planning process. The successful candidate will excel in conceptual thinking; be proficient in reading and evaluating architecture, engineering and construction documents; and have strong writing and communication skills. Completed art plans and project experience required.
